Dental Implant Treatment Process: A Step by Step Guide
Implant treatment at Ballıpınar is completed over two visits. The first visit covers examination, imaging and surgery. You then return home while the implants heal. On the second visit impressions are taken and your permanent teeth are fitted. Below is what happens on each day of both visits. Your own schedule is confirmed after your examination.

First visit: implant surgery
Arrival day
You are met at the airport, given a short briefing and taken to your hotel. Nothing is done at the clinic that day; you rest after your journey.
Day 1
examination, planning and surgery
The day begins with a detailed examination. A 2D panoramic X-ray and a 3D CBCT scan are taken. Your bone density, gum health and jaw structure are assessed. Your dentist plans where each implant goes, at what angle and in what size, and shares that plan with you. Surgery follows the same day, usually under local anaesthesia; general anaesthesia may be used for suitable patients. If your bone volume is insufficient, a graft, a sinus lift in the upper back jaw, or an extraction may be carried out in the same session.
Day 2
check-up and temporary teeth
Your post-operative check-up takes place. Swelling and discomfort are assessed. If you are suitable, temporary teeth are prepared so that you are not without teeth during the healing period.
Day 3
final check and departure
The surgical site and sutures are checked. You are given instructions on oral hygiene, diet and medication for the healing period. Your Fit to Fly letter is issued and you are taken to the airport.
The healing period
Implants need time to integrate with the jawbone. How long this takes differs from patient to patient and depends on your bone condition. Your dentist gives you your own timeline. Our support team stays in contact with you during this period.
Second visit: permanent teeth
Day 1
check, impressions and smile design
Your implants are checked. Impressions are taken and the smile design work begins. Tooth colour, length and shape preferences are discussed.
Day 2
try-in
A try-in of your permanent teeth is carried out. Bite, speech and aesthetic fit are checked. Anything you are not happy with is adjusted at this stage.
Days 3 and 4
laboratory work
Your restorations are produced in our own digital laboratory using titanium-supported zirconia. These two days are usually free for you.
Day 5
final try-in and placement
A final try-in is done, colour and natural appearance are checked, and your permanent restorations are fitted. Aftercare instructions are explained.
Day 6
departure
A final check is carried out, your Fit to Fly letter is issued and you are taken to the airport.
Frequently asked questions
How long is the gap between the two visits?
Healing time depends on your bone condition. Your dentist gives you the exact interval after your examination.
Will the surgery hurt?
The procedure is carried out under anaesthesia, so pain is not expected. Medication is recommended for any tenderness afterwards.
Can I fly home with temporary teeth?
For suitable patients, temporary teeth are prepared during the same visit. Suitability is assessed at your examination.
What if I do not have enough bone?
Additional procedures such as a graft or a sinus lift may be planned. This becomes clear after the CBCT scan.
